LaCie’s Desktop Hard Disk sells at an affordable price and gets the job done. No need to worry about where you are going to back up to or store any overflow from your fixed HDD. The LaCie Desktop HDD is lightweight and can be stacked if you need to add more units later. There are three capacities available.

To help speed the HDD retrieval times the LaCie Desktop External Hard Disk spins at 7200rpm and has an 8MB cache. For faster data transfer rates USB v2.0 is used providing up to 480Mbps. There’s no setup required with the LaCie unit being plug-and-play compatible with Windows and Mac – no drivers to load.

Unlike some external hard drives sold, the LaCie Desktop External Hard Disk can be used straight out of the box with Windows and Mac systems. The included LaCie 1-Click Backup Software is for quick, easy backups for both Windows and Mac personal computers. The external HDD is compatible with Windows 2000, XP, and Vista, as well as Mac OS 10.3 or higher.

At 900g the LaCie unit is certainly portable for journeys such as between work and home.

The limited warranty on the LaCie Desktop Hard Disk is 1 year.
