A significant feature of the LaCie d2 Quadra external hard drive is the quadruple interface including USB2.0, FireWire800, FireWire400 and eSATA. Not being able to supply power eSATA is not as popular a connection interface for external hard drives but, it’s 300Mb/s transfer is certainly something to be appreciated especially if you are working in an office or home office situation and have regular backups to contend with. Anything that makes backing up simpler or quicker is going to reduce the likelihood of needing to undertake data recovery.

Epson P-5000 and P-3000 Multimedia Storage Viewers

Epson’s P-5000 and P-3000 are designed to be portable, durable and efficient digital multimedia storage solutions. The P-5000 Multimedia Storage Viewer won “Best Storage Backup in Europe 2007” from the Technical Imaging Press Association (TIPA) award as well as an iF Product Design award at the CeBit exhibition in Hannover. The on-screen interface has three viewing modes for users to quickly organize files, create albums and slideshows and assign file ratings for personal access preferences. Each has a 4 inch, 640×480 resolution, 4-colour filter system LCD screen.
