Iomega has released its new fourth generation range of Iomega StorCenter Network Hard Drives intended for home and small to medium business networks with up to 15 users. Storage capacity of the three new StorCenter models ranges from 500GB to 1TB. Iomega have incorporated popular home-network features like media and print serving.

All Iomega StorCenter Network Hard Drives include:
- Active Directory support - gives the functionality to act as a client member in an Active Directory domain (allowing the drive to use the domain users and groups),
- a journaling file system - helps prevent data loss in the event of a power failure,
- UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) AV media server capability - allows users to enjoy photos, video, and music throughout the office or the home,
- EMC Retrospect Express backup and disaster recovery software.
The new StorCenter Network Hard Drives are compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems. Windows users can install and configure in minutes using the included Discovery Tool Pro software while Apple Bonjour support provides similar discovery and configuration capabilities for Mac OS X users.
All three of the new Iomega StorCenter models use 3.5-inch 7200 RPM SATA-II hard drives with an 8MB cache. The 500GB and 750GB StorCenter drives are single-drive products that feature a Gigabit Ethernet connection with jumbo frame support. RAID support is a feature of the top of the line, 1TB StorCenter Network Hard Drive, with the twin drive product supporting RAID 0 (striping), RAID 1 (mirroring) and JBOD (both drives are treated as large single drive).
Each StorCenter model has two external USB 2.0 ports for attaching external hard drives or printers, and each drive supports client PCs running Windows, Mac OS, or Linux. Compatible operating systems include: Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional; XP (Home, Professional, Professional x64), Windows Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business, and Ultimate), Mac OS X 10.2.7 and higher and Linux distributions Redhat 9, Mandrake 10, Debian 3.0, Gentoo, and FedoraCore 3.
